The Complexity Perspective ("we," "us," or "our") is a joint venture between Nola Hedstrom-Beblow and Bonnie McGill, based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. We are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of individuals who visit our website and use our services. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide through the following channels:

Contact forms: When you submit an inquiry through our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), ages of child(ren), details about what support you are looking for, and how you heard about us. For speaking and workshop inquiries, we also collect your organization or school name, preferred dates, format preference, topic of interest, and any additional details you provide.

Newsletter: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. Our newsletter is managed through Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a third-party email marketing service. Your email address is stored on Kit's servers and is subject to Kit's privacy policy.

Automatically collected information: We do not use cookies or tracking technologies on this website. We do not use analytics services that collect personal data.

2. How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

To respond to your inquiries and provide information about our services; to send you our newsletter if you have subscribed; to coordinate speaking engagements and workshops; and to improve our services and communication with you.

We will not use your personal information for any purpose other than those described above without your consent.

3. Sensitive information

We recognize that information shared through our contact forms — including details about your child(ren), neurodivergence, and support needs — may be sensitive in nature. All inquiries are treated as confidential. We do not share this information with any third party without your explicit consent, except as required by law.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Kit (formerly ConvertKit): Email newsletter management. Your email address is transmitted to and stored by Kit when you subscribe. Kit's servers are located in the United States. See Kit's privacy policy.

5. Data storage and retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our records. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link provided in every email.

6. Your rights

Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; withdraw your consent for us to use your information; and request deletion of your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address provided below.
